With the NFL season in post-Thanksgiving mode, the games mean so much more. If you’re betting on the NFL teaser odds in Week 13, these are some of the best matchups on the board at the sportsbook.
New Orleans at Dallas Cowboys (+7, 52.5)
The Dallas Cowboys put their three-game winning streak to the ultimate test against the red-hot New Orleans Saints, who have won 10 straight and covered in nine of those contests – including an impressive win over Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day.
Dallas’ best shot of knocking off the Saints is to ground-and-pound with Ezekiel Elliott and let their talented linebackers and secondary keep New Orleans in front of it. The Cowboys won’t shut down the Saints offense, but if they can limit Drew Brees time with the football, they may be able to keep this one close enough to cover the free touchdown.
Minnesota Vikings at New England Patriots (-7, 48.5)
The Patriots are setting up for a strong finish to the season, knowing it will need home-field advantage and the No. 1 seed in the AFC if it wants to get back to the Super Bowl. New England looked a little shaky in the opening half versus the New York Jets in Week 12, but poured it on late with a balanced attack on the ground and through the air.
The Vikings knocked off divisional rival Green Bay at home Sunday night, lifting them back into the postseason picture in the NFC. Minnesota must get pressure on Brady and force some awkward throws if it wants to slow down the Pats. The Vikings had four sacks and did a good job containing Aaron Rodgers in Week 12, while mixing it up on offense. The New England defense isn’t very stingy, so this game could turn into a shootout.
Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5, 51.5)
The Steelers watch their winning streak come to a halt in the thin air of Mile High, losing a sloppy game to the Denver Broncos Sunday. That was the team’s second straight road tilt and now they get to come back home for this important AFC matchup. Pittsburgh is a much more potent offense at home, scoring 11 points more at Heinz Field than on the road.
The Chargers beat up on the Arizona Cardinals but lost running back Melvin Gordon to a knee injury, for at least Week 13. Gordon has been a two-way weapon on offense, catching and running the football and leading the team with 13 touchdowns on the season. The Bolts have been a great bet away from home this season, going 4-1 SU and ATS and they are a tempting play with the half-point hook in Pittsburgh.
