The Irish need to win this game with some style, but they’ll also need some help.

Brian Kelly’s bunch broke out a little bit on offense last week, beating on Georgia Tech 55-0. The only blemish is against the #4 Bearcats of Cincinnati. Notre Dame needs to put some serious points on the board to show the College Football Playoff Committee that they can make a run through the postseason.

A dud here, even in a win, could be enough to keep the Irish out. They need to be impressive in victory.

Stanford has been reeling of late, having lost their last 6 outings. They are fresh off a beat down by the University of California Golden Bears, losing 44-11. Stanford took down the then #3 Oregon Ducks in October and hasn’t sniffed a victory since.

This is as disappointing of a season that David Shaw has had at Stanford. The momentum arrow in Palo Alto is pointing directly down. A win here against a rival Notre Dame would breathe some much-needed life back into this program. One thing that we know, the Irish will be acting like it is a home game, as the Cardinal never show. has a 2-star pick on this game.
