Villanova Wildcats vs Syracuse OrangeTuesday night we get an Old School Big East fistfight between Jay Wright and his Villanova Wildcats to take on Jim Boeheim’s Orange from Syracuse in the Mecca of hoops. This is the third time that these teams have faced off since Syracuse spurned the Big East for the ACC in 2013, each having a victory at their house.

The Wildcats have a couple of losses this season to a couple of the nation’s top teams, UCLA and Purdue, but they have looked the part of a potential national title contender. They have their typical senior lead guard in Collin Gillespie as well as a few other upperclassmen that lead a very standard and successful Jay Wright Style of the team. They can score with anyone in the country and they will have to take down their old conference foe.

Syracuse comes into this game off two big wins vs Indiana and at Florida State last week that has them back in the postseason picture after a very tough start to the season. The Boeheim boys are looking to stay hot and lead their dad’s bunch back to the big dance. They can fill it up when Buddy Boeheim is hot, but they are struggling to guard. The days of the super long, athletic Syracuse 2-3 Zone seem to be gone. This game has the possibility of being a shoot-out if Syracuse can get Villanova to turn it over a few times, something that they rarely do. Let’s have some fun at The Garden.
