The College basketball season has gotten underway earlier this week. The Big Ten was able to get through their first games without a loss, going 13-0 against very inferior competition.
This conference has not had a National Champion since 2000 but has regularly been the deepest conference in college hoops. This year this conference doesn’t seem to have a team that will ascend to a top seed, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a team that could win the title.
Here is a Preview of the potential teams in the conference.
1-The Illinois Fighting Illini have the highest upside of any team in the conference. They have lost their star big man in Kofi Cockburn, but that may allow this team to take a major step into running and gunning as they would prefer. They have added transfers Matthew Mayer and Texas Tech Terrance Shannon. They also have mega recruit Skyy Clark leading a top 10 class that looks to take off early.
2-The Indiana Hoosiers have the most established players in the conference in their tandem of big men Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson. They also have a strong lead guard in Xavier Johnson.
They have been unable to shoot the ball for nearly a decade. If they can add some shooting this year they could be dangerous. Jalen Hood-Schifino is the highly touted newcomer to start fast for the Hoosiers.
3-The Michigan Wolverines were a top 5 team to start the year last season but fell on hard times. They wound up being the last team in the tournament but ran to the sweet 16.
They return super star Big man Hunter Dickinson and they brought in guard Jaelin Llewellyn, who hopes to continue a strong string of transfer guards for Juwaun Howard and Co. Howard’s two sons Jace and Jett will also make a major impact on this roster.
4-The Purdue Boilermakers are going to be interesting this season. They usually are a great team with not true super star, however last year they had top 4 pick Jaden Ivey and despite all the talent, they faltered a few too many times.
This year is a more Matt Painter-type team that will move the ball and feed the beast in Zach Edey. Edey should see more time this year. If they can get solid point guard play and play better defense than last year, they could be fun.
5- The Michigan State Spartans are still led by Tom Izzo, and if Izzo is there so will the Spartans be a tough out. This won’t be their most talented team, but they should back to being a rebounding force and a very tough defensive team. They will be a tough out all year.

Bestonlinesportsbooks.com simulation model, which simulates every NCAAB game thousands’ of times, is up +16.7 units over the last three years. We have released 310 total games with 167 WINS and 143 losses ATS for a win % of 53.87%. A $100 bettor of our NCAAB would have netted a profit of $1,670 and, a $1,000 bettor would have won $$16,700 just on NCAAB. We have released only a small number of NCAAB games so far this season.
